Homeward Bound

2021

An exhibition at Kaktus in Akureyri where a series of collages were installed alongside sculptures on sculptural pedestals. The collages were made from an abandoned hornets nest and paper scraps and the series was named The Pulp Parellel. The sculptures and pedestals were made from trees that came from the same yard as the hornets nest came. Chances are that it was the bark from these trees that the hornets chewed up and used as the pulp to sculpt their nest. The artist graphically highlighted the texture of the bark and paper-maché'd the floor of the exhibition space mirroring and highlighting the hornets technique or "craft".
